The Institut Bleu is launching the third edition of PAP’Mer!

The Institut Bleu is leading the “Parcours d’adaptabilité préalable à la mer ” project (PAP’mer) in partnership with the Regional Committee for Marine Fisheries and Aquaculture of Réunion (CRPMEM), France Travail, andthe Maritime Apprenticeship School.

PAP’mer is a support program for maritime training programs that gives young people interested in the maritime sector the opportunity to assess their skills and motivation before beginning their training.

🌊 Get ready for the 3rd edition of PAP’Mer!
The Institut Bleu is launching its new session this August.
On the agenda: tides in September and October, followed in November by a seamanship workshop and an information session to explore careers at sea and their opportunities, as well as funding options for training programs.

Practical training at sea

Participants take part in a half-day introductory fishing trip aboard a boat owned by a professional fisherman certified in fishing tourism. This gives them the opportunity to observe the trade in action under real-world conditions and interact with the professional.

Theory in Practice
Participants then take part in a seamanship workshop designed to give them a sense of what they can expect to learn during maritime training. An information session introduces them to the various maritime training programs available and funding options, to help guide them in their career choices.

By the end of the project, the young participants will have gained hands-on experience and developed a clear career plan!
